The Majacraft Pioneer, in my opinion it just doesn’t get all the attention it deserves, often overshadowed by its stunning sister wheels Aura, Rose, and Suzie. But the humble Pioneer, what a dream she is to spin on! She might not have the curvaceous lines of the Aura, or the classy classic style of the Suzie and Rose, but she really knows how to get a yarn spun and contains all the components that are every bit as good as the rest of the Majacraft range. So I gave a Pioneer a whole new look! I have completely hand painted every part of this wheel, and equipped it with the Aura flyer and a galactic sized Jumbo bobbin, ready to spin into unchartered territory.
I have also made a speed video of the painting techniques I used for creating this customisation, maybe you already have your almost-dream wheel and all it needs are some stars and planets to make it really yours, I would love to encourage you do try this. If you are not someone who does a lot of painting, try it out on another less precious item first and keep at it till you are confident you can make it look how you want. It is an easy technique but takes a little practice in the blending and the spattering. I used standard acrylic paints, a range of still bristle brushes, and finished it with several coats of spray Satin Varnish.
If you already own a Pioneer have you also painted it to make it something unique? It is the PERFECT wheel for doing this 🙂 I will most definitely be painting more and of course am very open to suggestions for themes to try out on future wheel painting projects! Please do leave a comment with your ideas!
