When we take our inspiration from anything related to magic, it is easy to see how to step outside the bounds of the mundane and into the realms of the far. Just look at this amazing yarn from Eugenia Redmond, who’s article is a fascinating insight into her spinning journey.

Jesse Javete takes us on a colourful path through the everyday inspirations all around us that can bring us magical ideas to express in fiber.

Then we can also journey back in time with Soibhan to recreate one of Scotlands most ancient tartans, from sheep to woven shawl!

After delving into the colours of the world around us with Jesse’s batts, we also have a lovely tutorial in transforming fiber into beautiful rolags on a blending board by the amazing Carol Hodgson of Fellview Fibres (if you haven’t yet had the pleasure of spinning her fibre please do treat yourself one day!). Carol shows us how to perform a magic spell that turns the sky into shades of a gradient, and flowers into a beautiful blended mix of coloured fibre ready to spin.

We also have another transformation spell that will take your yarn and fiber scraps and magic them into gorgeous yarns, from Lea and her daughter Elfie.

There is so much more in this issue, it is like walking into a fairy grotto: a portal to another dimension – at first glance it looks like a magazine, but open the pages and you will be transported to another land of enchantment and fibery wizardry!
