We have just launched our eleventh issue of tinyStudio Creative Life magazine! We are thrilled to bring you another packed and inspirational magazine. The underlying theme of this issue is ‘naturally beautiful’. I deliberately left this theme quite open, because it is a subject that could have many different interpretations, and indeed, throughout this issue, we will see many naturally beautiful things! I love that we all see beauty in our own unique ways and find our own expressions of the inspiration it brings us by using our own voices. We know tinyStudio subscribers will enjoy the fantastic work of the fiber artists who have contributed to this exciting issue!

As you may know, this issue is also our first issue in print! Of course, as with any new activity we are having to learn the processes and take guesses at things like timing and numbers. For myself, the first hurdle was learning how to create the right kind of file with the correct settings for the printers. We also felt it was important for this first issue to have some of the pages printed for us as proofs in order to check for things like colour accuracy, and of course, this delayed us as we needed to wait for that to happen and then to be shipped. It was worth it! I was able to alter some of the images to create a better print. We also did not know exactly what the print and the binding process entailed in terms of timing, the end result is that the shipping of Issue 11 is a little delayed, I would have loved to have had it out two weeks ago, and it is going to be with you a few weeks later than I had planned, however, I know that when you do receive it you will be thrilled with it, and it will have been worth the wait!

In any event, today we launch the digital version of tinyStudio Issue 11 on time (!) and it is already in our digital subscriber’s inboxes! If you are not a digital subscriber you can hop over to www.fiberygoodness.com and visit the ‘Current Issue’ page where you can purchase the digital issue as a single issue without a subscription (or subscribe and get issue 11 as your first issue!). We were also able to have enough copies printed that we will soon be able to also offer print copies as single issues too, it will just take you a bit longer to get yours in the post than print subscribers, but we will be shipping weekly once they are available ๐Ÿ™‚

So here is a sneak peek of some of the wonderful articles in this issue! Starting with the cover, provided to us by Francoise Danoy of Aroha Knits (who also has an excellent article in the issue about her natural dyeing journey).

We also have a lovely stitch pattern and tutorial from Lindsey White (you also saw her previous article in Issue 10!)

We have an amazing Things to Love feature in this issue, with the inspirational spinning of Christie Garfinkel

We share in one artistโ€™s discovery of their true inspiration, with Jennifer McDaniel. This is truly a journey in many senses of the word and we loved being able to travel it with her.

Charan Sachar once again amazes us with an incredibly creative yarn that is unmistakably a “Charan Yarn’ in look, colour, and texture ๐Ÿ™‚ You will love this step by step tutorial!

We also have some wonderful weaving once again from the loom of Ineke De Brouwer in the Netherlands. We really enjoy Ineke’s stories about where she lives and the history and local legends that inspire her art. This is one of her breathtaking pieces, the article contains the story behind it as well as how she made it.

I have contributed my second article in the Fundamentals of Dyeing series, this time it is all about getting rich and gorgeous solid coloured into your yarns, and I loved the process of creating the yarns for this section of the series!

More exciting yarns in this issue, from the biggest chunkiest yarns by Alyssa Krueger

to the finest lace yarns and some excellent tips for making them, from James (Longdraw) Perry

And there is a lot more ๐Ÿ™‚ 120 pages of gorgeousness plus information, creativity boosts, fascinating stories from the featured artists, and of course tutorials! Our pattern in this issue is a wonderful airy crochet ‘Cherry Blossom Stole’ from LaVisch Designs, and do not miss the exciting works featured in the Community Makes pages!
