One of the dreams that Arlene and I have had, since the inception of FiberyGoodness, is that one day we would be in a position to offer a teaching platform for other fiber artists,   be a  kind of catalyst for the sharing of knowledge.  We are extremely happy then to be in production right NOW for a brand new course with the amazing Natalie Redding of Namaste Farms! Natalie is a source of in depth knowledge about fleece, fiber, their different qualities, and of course how to make the most of that when dyeing.

The course Natalie is going to be bringing to you is “Dye Secrets” – tools of the trade that she has worked out through much trial and error, and through bringing her own considerable intellect into an investigation of fiber and dye properties and how to get the best results. And as many of us know, those results speak for themselves!

NatalieRedding4The masterful colour separations and areas of blending that Natalie can control when applying dyes are matched by the wonderful intensity of the colours she can achieve, and this is through a process she has developed to ensure these results every time. We are very proud that Natalie has chosen us as a vehicle for teaching her methods for dyeing, and we are more than confident that anyone who takes this course will learn something new with every module!

The course will be structured with demonstrations, examples, and information presentation by Natalie via streamable videos. These will remain available to you to watch as many times as you need to.  Each of those videos will also come with a written workbook section in which all important points are summarised for you, so you dont have to try to remember everything at once! And there will be a lot 🙂 Natalie will cover everything you need to know, starting with washing and preparing your fleece right through to dyed fiber and troubleshooting your dye experiments. Each module will contain at least one ‘trade secret’, tools and techniques that Natalie uses in her own regular dyeing methods but has not shared before. Being able to offer this extended course is a wonderful opportunity to get in depth and personal with techniques that just can’t be taught as stand alone snippets of the process as a whole.

If you are interested in  the  course, and knowing that we must limit places to ensure everyone gets the chance to participate and receive the support they need to succeed, we have set up a pre-registration email list, once your name is on the list you will get priority on enrolment, plus hear about any course development news as we move through production and delivery tasks. You can sign up for that list right HERE!

We will let you know as soon as we have pricing and release date information, in the meantime, here is a further taste of the amazing dye skills Natalie has to share!

So excited for this, I started dyeing from watching Natalie. The most wonderful person and teacher. That was many years ago.
