I am very pleased to present Issue 28 of tinyStudio Creative Life magazine!  Now in our 7th year, this issue follows a tinyStudio tradition of inspirational creativity, sharing the stories of the artists behind the work, their motivations and development of their personal specialities and passions.

And over this time, it has always been a great pleasure of mine to welcome back fibre artists for return visits and updates. In this issue we have a lovely visit with Nathalie of L’Oeil de Loup (who has also provided the beautiful cover image for this issue). We have seen her amazing yarns in earlier issues, and now we share a tour of her gorgeous studio in the French Auvergne. The spaces Nathalie has created in this historic building provide special opportunities to work with fibre through all steps of yarn making, with beautiful light and views as an inspiring backdrop.

I also love that we have a second trip to France in this one issue, to the beautiful region of Provence, where Ineke de Brouwer (Netherlands) found inspiration for her latest Dynamic Weave project, in both colour and form.

I am thrilled at the variety of crafts we have to be inspired by in this issue; we have an article by fellow New Zealander Sarah Ritchie, focussed on felting, in which the theme can be applied to all arts and crafts – and is a message close to my heart – ‘experiment’ and do not be afraid to try things out!

We have an article about tatting, which inspired me so much I insta-purchased some tatting bobbins and made a plan to follow the pattern shared with the article as soon as I can!

If you are like me, and love the wonderful attributes of mohair – its silkiness and sheen, the lovely curls.. you will really enjoy that article about how Veronica Rall established a flock of fantastic angora goats here in New Zealand, and is providing some stunning fibre for spinners. What a process and dedication to breed for mohair this good!

And speaking of the perfect fleece, what about Willow’s article ‘The Unicorn Fleece’! Aren’t we all searching for that 🙂 This is Willows story of finding her magic fiber.

I am excited to share this issue with you, i hope it fills your heart with inspiration for new fibery projects and sparks ideas for things you can do with fluff!
