Towards my goal of making spinning tools fun, I have designed a top whorl spindle, and hand painted it to create a beautiful, and useful bloom!
Each spindle weighs approximately 32 grams (1oz) with a stem measuring 22.5cm (8.8 inches) total length. I make them from 100% bamboo, cutting them on my laser, then sanding, gluing, and painting each one to create a unique bloom to spin your yarn on!
These ‘Posy’ spindles are available as ‘blind boxes’ – I will select your bloom and package it up to ship to you anywhere in the world, and when you open it up you will get a lovely surprise – which colour will you find?! If you are a spindle collector, you can create a whole ‘Posy’ of spindles! If you purchase more two at a time I will make sure you get different colours, and if you have previously purchased just let me know which colour/s you already have and I will make sure you get a new colour to add to your bunch.
I have really enjoyed creating these spindles and hope you will also love them! Also do keep an eye on the blog (sign up!) or the Facebook group as I will be adding different flower styles and petal shapes over time, maybe I will create a while cottage garden! Maybe even a Delphinium Distaff!

Suzy, It doesn’t say, but I was wondering if the flowers can be separated to make various weights for spinning?
I had not thought of that, they can’t be removed as everything is set in place for a smooth spin, I could make a range of weights like that though – thanks for the inspiration!
